Tourism Agreement between London and New York

Mayor of New York – Michael R. Bloomberg and Mayor of London- Boris Johnson recently announced a 2 year tourism agreement between these two cities. The intention behind the agreement is to boost the visits of tourists between these metropolitans. The agreement also includes expert’s assistance during the public events. Exchange of advertising and sharing of best prices is also embraced in the agreement. This union of the two cities will further enhance the travel as well as the hotel industries will also flourish. Under this contract the cities will also offer outdoor media advertising space in Visit London and NYC Company which are the tourism arms of the respective cities. Both the mayor’s share several similarities including determination, optimism and appreciation for innovation.

Around 71 bus shelters will be exchanged by New York City with London under this agreement. These buses will run in New York for almost 4 weeks in a year. In return of this service London will exchange more than 200 posters for 4 weeks on London tube. This will be done twice in a year. These cities will also assist each other with one publicity event every year. United States of America has always been the leading market for the international visitors. Similarly last year New York also received a record breaking number of UK tourists. Both the cities have decided to promote business and leisure travel for each other in their respective cities. The best part about both these cities is that the value UK pound and American dollar are completely in favour of each other. The value of media for both the cities is around 357000 dollars yearly therefore; the 2 year deal will give 357000 dollars to each city.

A promotional campaign was also started in US celebrates the unique experiences, sights, heritage, culture, sounds and attractions of London. This spectacular promotional event was partnered by the British Airways and Radisson Edwardian hotels. These promotions were held all over New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Miami. These events will highlight several attractive value deals and an opportunity to win a trip to London where the winner can spend a luxurious New Year Eve. In this once in a lifetime opportunity the winner will also relish a lavish dinner on the river Thames. VIP pass to the renowned Hyde Park, Champagne Flight on London Eye, A visit to the Royal Academy of Arts, VIP tour of Wembley Stadium and a tour on Eurostar will also be presented to the winner.
